TN from brain tumor?

Is there anyone on this site that has type one TN from a brain tumor? I have a brain stem tumor that I was diagnosed with when I was 12. I am on Trileptal, Gabapentin, and Morphine Sulfate that I take every 12 hours. When I reached the max level of Gabapentin that my doctor wanted me to I started feeling more lightheaded than I usually do which has led to pretty bad anxiety about leaving my house. I’ve decided to go down on Trileptal because it’s the more brutal of the two. Every time I mess with Trileptal I have gnarly side effects, even though I’m only going down 75mg right now. My side effects are lightheaded ness (of course), and a feeling like my equilibrium is off. Has anyone found ANYTHING that helps these side effects? I’m going crazy :frowning:

I've read about one or two on here maybe -- in the search box put brain tumor and see what comes up

I had to stop gabapentin because of the dizziness - i had to get off trileptal to get a job so I had an MVD in October.

It's the meds that drove me to that action -- and every day is better.

The only med I took to counteract a med was ritalin -- because I could not conentrate to research MVD

I also have used lidocaine RX patches on my face for much relief and was able to lower meds

Keep posting!

Yes. I have a brain tumor also on the stem but in a very bad location … I’m only on 60mg of Trileptal a day but it’s really left me with blurred vision… I’ve had my tumor since 2002 it’s not growed so their just watching it with an MRI every year… God bless … Good luck

My TN is caused by a brain tumor in the meckel cave area. They don't want to remove the tumor because of it's location, but suggested RF rhizotomy. Since this thread is 2 years old, have you had surgery on the tumor since then?

Hello Shirleyk, even though this communication was 2 years ago, I am just seeing it. I had not seen too many with a brain tumor. My trauma it’s on the brainstem also. Because of its location I will not be able to have it removed. I had 2 rhizotomies in July '16. I still have numbness in my face, but it is better than the electric shocks. Since your post was 2 years ago I would be interested to know how you are doing. I truly hope you are doing fine. Thank you for your post. Gloria
