Sunct!

Hello every one …
Today I went to my neurologist for follow up, he still have a doubt of the diagnosis TN (every follow up I am in remission), He consider SUNCT short lasting unilateral neuralgiform hradache attacks. Any one have any clue ? What is the differences between TN & SUNCT ?

Go to google and type that in for search! Here is one I found for you…

http://ihs-classification.org/en/02_klassifikation/02_teil1/03.03.00_cluster.html

Looks like you could have this, or both…ls the treatment he same?

Also, google this:

McGill pain scale

Print it off and fill it out for doctor!

Thank you kc dancer … The link really helped me to understand about SUNCT actually the doctor put me on indomithacine 25 mg BID as a diagnostic tool because it is effective in case of SUNCT but not with TN … Today after 2 weeks of complete pain free period I start feel some pulses while washi g my face : /

Do you know these doctors are absolute idiots. It sounds like classic tn to me type1. Never heard of sunct im going to google it now!!!

Hmm just looked it up and it is closely related to the trigeminal nerve isn't it? Symptoms are totally different to mine though. Symptoms to my eye are like lightening bolts awfully painful but no drooping, tearing or redness. Some people experience theses symptoms with bells palsy, you ever had that Dodo?

I am not sure about SUNCT what is make it different from TN & what is the diagnostic/spesific tool that make the diagnosis 100% is SUNCT ! … For me there is tearing some times & between attacks I am not pain free … Also no eyeled dropping but redness around the lips ! What is the benefit if we are looking for another similar, confusing, hard to differentiate diagnosis while the management will be the same !
The most common that I feel my face (even left side) and palat are anasthesized like if I receive reaaly dental anasthetic !!

But remember - the last line I think on that website - said that you could have both together??? OWWWCH!

Oh godness both ! … Am I the only one who feels stuck on this horrible life ?

Get a second opinion please with a TN neuro!
