Mybell- glad to hear your appt went well and you are on his schedule! Thanks to you and Trish for thinking of me.
Good, well GREAT News…we got a call from our ins today. A different MD reviewed our 59 page appeal and OVERTURNED the first MDs denial! YEA! I couldn’t believe it, I was getting pretty depressed. I called Dr Casey immediately and it looks like I’m back on his schedule for Aug. 14. Thank you all for your support!
SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Sorry for yelling, it was more like a big ol' Whoop-De-Doo!! I have had MVD, and the recovery was easier than expected. I actually only spent 2 days in the hospital and I was more than ready to come home. It helped that my husband took off a couple of weeks to take care of me. I hope you have someone there for the first week, just because you will still feel discombobulated and spacey from the pain killers. Don't be brave, take the painkillers and rest. NO heavy lifting! I ignored that warning, seeing how I'm very stubborn and none too bright! For most TN'ers, MVD is a lifesaver! I am in that 20% of folks for whom the pain returned. The good news is, it is only about a third of the intensity and frequency. Although I still get attacks, they are usually not as severe. I am off all meds now, except for an antidepressant taken once a day. That is due to this surgery. I use to take such massive dosages of anti-seizure meds, my memory was awful. I even forgot how to drive and I had hallucinations. I had to stop driving! I feel much healthier now that I'm off that stuff. I am praying you will never need any more toxic meds once Dr. Casey finds the culprit and gives you your life back. You have a world-wide cheering squad on your behalf, too! All TN'ers are pulling for you!
Suzanne- thanks for the advice! I’m sorry to hear to are still in pain, but glad it is reduced. My husband will get some time off and my kids are 14 & 17 so they will be a big help too! Will be glad to be off meds, think clearly, have more energy and not have the weather affect me each day!! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement!
Deej- thank you, too! You are in my thoughts and prayers , hope recovery is going well!
