Has anyone experienced scalp Dermatological irritations after micro-vascular decompression procedure? These bumps started showing up around two years after the Craniotomy. I have seen three different dermatologists and each one has given my a different diagnosis - one says it is due to herniation in cervical vertibrae, another says it is sebhorric dermatitis, and yet another dermatologist says it is from the Craniotomy due to the cutting through nerves in the skull for the microvascular decompression. Clobetosol helps calm it some but it never goes away and it is very irritating. Anyone else experience this symptom after MVD Craniotomy? Thank you for any insight.
I haven’t had MVD, but I do have seborrhiec dermatitis and I use Selsun blue or a generic brand. Takes a couple of days to go away. I use it on and off regularly. It works. Maybe it can work for you too! I hope so.
Best wishes to you!

Thanks. The last dermatologist told me that it is NOT sebhorric dermatitis. I routinely use a shampoo product called Dermarest – it helps a little bit the Bumpiness persists. I’ll see if anyone else on this site experiences Scalp problems after MVD and other Craniotomy procedures. Thanks again.
