Hi,
I have right sided TN, I also have MS.
Has anyone experience with having a radiofrequency rhizotomy done for TN, I had Gamma Knife done a two years with no positive affect. I am left with some numbness on right side. My surgery is being done by a Dr Burchiel. Thanks

Burchial is a big hitter, so there must be some credence in this decision for rhizotomy. I 'm sure he has covered the risk of this procedure in regards to an increased risk of developing anesthesia delorosa. Consider this thoroughly as this problem if developed will lead you down a path you do not wish to travel. What were the other options? My best to you and hope all goes well. Cheers Joe
Hi Angel,
I have had gamma knife, mvd and 2 radiofrequency rhizylosis procedures. The RF procedures have helped me immensely. I have type 1 left-sided pain in the lower jaw. It seems like the RF procedures last about one and a half to 2 years for me. Its hard to get used to the numbness at first but it gradually wears off. Hopes this helps you.
