Real bad shocks to face

I DON' T KNOW IF I AMM IN THE RIGHT PLACE I AM NEW AND HAVE BEEN HAVING TERRIBLE SHARP SHOCKING PAINS IN MY FACE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I CAN'T THINK I DROP THINGS, IT IS LIKE MY BRA8N IS GETTING STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DOCTOR IN TWO WEEKS. I LOOKED THIS UP ON GOOGLE AND SOMETHING CALLED TRIGEMINÀL NEWRALGI COUND CAUSE THIS ÀND A BRÀIN TUMOR OR MS. DOES ÀNYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS? THANK YOU

It does sound as if it could be trigeminal neuralgia, but a neurologist would be the one to diagnose you. Two weeks is a long while to wait. Could you possibly see your primary care doctor before that?

Hello, This is an appointment with my regular doctor. I don't know about a newrolist. This is the first time I could get. Thank you for writing bàck to me.

Hi Mini,

Can you explain these pains that you are getting in more detail? Where on your face are they happening? Always in the same place? You said they are quick bolts which is what happens with Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is important because there are certain places that Trigeminal Neuralgia usually occurs.

Try to get an appointment with your GP sooner if you can or if it is that bad go to the ER. A proper diagnosis is usually made with a neurologist but if you get lucky a GP may be able to help based on your symptoms.

Hello, The pain is under my eye on the cheek and around in the front of my ear. It seems to be almost like somebody smacking my face with a bord but it feels like a very bad electric shock and last from about a half of a minute to three or for minutes. I can't stand to touch my face but sometimes it does not do nothing when I touch it. I am on a list at my doctors to come in if somebody does not come to there appointment. But I cannot get in . The lady said they are full because of the doctor will not be there that week of Thanksgiving. If it gets worse I càn go to the hospital.but I hope it it don't. Thank you for helping me

That is an area where the trigeminal nerve is. That is an area where I have flare ups. The fact that touch of the area brings on the lightening bolt pains is a huge hint that it could be neuralgia. Ask anything here. A lot of Drs have very little, or even no, knowledge of TN. I hope that your GP is helpful. You need a neurologist and an MRI and medication to start.
