RE: More confused than ever

OK yesterday I went to the dentist to rule-out the possibility of a bad tooth. The x-ray did not reveal an abscess, though the filling had to be repaired. Today I have had a tight feeling in my throat and some overall tension on my left side, after an entire weekend and Monday with spasms regularly occurring. I read that the new filling, i.e. repaired filling, could be why there is sensitivity but there was some sensitivity prior to that. Seriously, I am at the end of my rope in some ways. I am confused...could he have missed something? Could there be decay/abscess and the x-ray didn't find it? Could this entire thing be TN? The dentist is familiar with my history and says that the tooth area of the trigeminal nerve. He acknowledged I had been right to have a bad tooth ruled out. Yesterday I had mixed feelings about it not being a tooth, with resignation that the TN is active again. Today, I'm completely unsure again in light of what seems to be heightened sensitivity. Any thoughts?

...thanks...my neurologist, who I have only seen once as we just got acquainted this year, indicated that the medications will not stave off relapses or occurrences but would fight them once present. In other words it is his opinion that meds will not prevent relapses. I know many people here are on meds. I live in a town where another lady has this; she was on meds for years and eventually had surgery, only to find herself in pain two years later. Now, she treats the relapses as they happen and does not take a lot of medication. Topomax has been effective for me previously, and helps with migraines associated with hormone shifts. I have a prescription for that but did not restart it yet. I've been so confused that I was waiting for a definitive. Can you tell I like knowing the whole story and being in control? :)
