I realized the other day that the pain in the right side was gone. I weaned myself off the gabapentin (again) and so far no pain! If I don't have any problems by Monday, i will be canceling my second surgery! I feel like God has performed miracles with me the last few months, but this one takes the cake! It seems for all intesive reasons to be gone. Yes it can always come back, but if it holds off for a year, I will have more time to save up for it and to heal more from the first one. So I am praying that the pain stays in remission! woohoo!
Oh I do hope so, I can’t imagine having pain in both sides I do get twinges in my right side two but I think it’s me just worrying . That light is getting closer just hope the dr confirms I have TN so I can move on I know that’s what it is but have to have his say on the atter I just hope he understand the pain xx fingers crossed u will be pain free and no more op this year keep me posted x

Hi great news the nerolagist today said I defiantly ha TN (which I knew anyway) and that he thinks I defiantly have the op as being young It should be very successful , so now to see the surgeon again on the 26 June and hopefully an operation will be soon I’m so relieved feel a weight has been lifted of my shoulders x

Yvette, thats great news! Good luck with your surgery! Read through this thread, there's some great info on here. The only thing I have to add is prepare yourself for recovery. I was super prepared for surgery and was blindsided by the recovery. I am in a rush right now, but I will try and get back on here later if I think of anything else. Keep us posted!

NO! I canceled on Friday. WOHOO! I am done. He said if the pain returns to just call back! So now I a free woman!! So relieved! It was weird too, because the day I called and canceled my appt, my dad was diagnosed with renal cancer and he has surgery that day! So I would have had to cancel mine anyway. God always works things out! :)
Oh yea, I got my hair cut today, first time since the surgery and the girl was telling me that my hair is growing in wonderfully and she could only see the bottom inch or so of my scar. My hair is growing back on top of the scar tissue. Its so strange, never saw that before. Anyway, I know you are concerned about it, but it really is minimal in size and heals SO quickly. I worried about it too. It's just amazing what they can do anymore and leave you with minimal scarring!
Hooray for hair growing back and no more surgeries and feeling pain free (and drug free!)!! ... hooray hooray!
Tina....bought pillows, sent kids out to be camp sounselors for the summer, met with an attorney today to make a will, bought a laptop stand for the bed....next,,,,new mattress. Please if you think of anything else, let meknow. I did see the med chart dry erase board, put my mom in charge of that. how long will i need someone at home with me?

I would say min. like 3-5 days, but I was able to work it out so I had people I think for like 2 weeks. You aren't suppose to lift anything so if you are going to be home alone, make sure you have food and beverages pre-portioned out ahead of time because you won't want to pull out a big jug of juice or something, too heavy. The white board for meds is the BEST! My husband thought of that, so that was great because then it didn't matter if it was me, or someone else giving me drugs we were all on the same page. GOOD LUCK!! It's SO WORTH IT. My surgery was 6 mo. ago this month, and I can't believe it!
