Post extraction pain years later

I have written on here a bunch about numerous facial pain issues I have been trying to solve the past 4 years. Over 2 years ago I regretfully extracted tooth 12 thinking it was causing pain in that area which is my upper left jaw. It did have evidence of black at the end & 2 endo’s noticed it but said it could be scar tissue as well. Anyway- removed tooth & ever since that area hurts. I feel it more so above the site & off to the side of site towards nose. The tooth is really close to nose.

So I had tons of imaging- MRI, sinus CT, Dental cone beam recently this past Summer which was at a dental school & the oral radiologist said that area looked fine. I am working with an ENT had sinus surgery on left side due to cyst in sinus & it’s been 3 months of sinus surgery & the ENT said it takes around 6 months to fully heal.

Ugh I still feel like something didn’t heal correctly with that extraction & I pray I am wrong. Why is it when I touch the bone in that area it is tender & stays tender? I currently have post nasal drip one side- sinus infection currently & have one sided drip on that side frequently. But that area has been tender since extraction so I am nervous. I wish they would open up the site. Does anyone have any extraction stories? I was on low dose of nerve meds that didn’t help. I gave up on the neurologist bc she never up’s it & I hated side effects. I just wish I never had that tooth out.

I am so sorry to hear about your pain. I had a wisdom tooth extracted before the TN diagnosis as they thought it could have been my problem & wasn’t. I didn’t have any post extraction pain from it. Perhaps try a new neurologist that specializes or has a lot of experience in TN if yours doesn’t.
