PHOTOS. Please don't be alarmed by my photos, I had alopecia areata before the TN and lost all my hair 2 years ago!

Finally decided to put some pics on following my MVD, after all so far so good for me and I'm pretty proud of my result so far and my amazing scar!! Just don't be put off by the lack of hair - I went into hospital without any, and came out the same way!! The first picture is day 1 after the operation and the others about 8 days and then 3 weeks later.

My next challenge is trying to wear my wig without feeling too uncomfortable, as it does sit pretty tight, but I've managed to do so a few times now and it's becoming less of a problem. I do however have to keep checking it's in the right place, as my scalp and face are pretty numb still so I don't feel where it sits properly. Could be kind of embarassing!!

So here goes, I'll put the pics up for you to see.

The other pics are of a place here in Yorkshire called Bolton Abbey, which we visited yesterday and I managed to walk for 4 miles (not bad 4 weeks after my MVD!) quite near to where we live and very beautiful I think you might agree. The stream is known as the 'Strid' or "stride"as some people used to think they could step across it, only to perish when they did so as the current is very strong and pulls you under the rocks!! Not one to mess around with!

Thanks for the photos. You look fabulous - I can’t believe you walked that far so soon after MVD. I am 6.5 weeks post surgery and yesterday I went for my first bike ride for a couple of kilometres. It felt good but I had to sit down with my head resting against the back of the lounge afterwards!!! Well done you, keep up the good recovery.

Thanks Gen and well done for the bike ride! Hope today's a good day. Suzy
