MVD Surgery on Tuesday the 14th

Hi Everyone: I am having the MVD surgery on Tuesday, Dec. 14th and I will probably be off here for awhile. I will try to post as soon as I am up to it. Just wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts and prayers!

I will keep you in my thoughts & will be sending positive vibes for a successful outcome. I'm at day 23 post op...still shock free..and have been off all TN medication for 18 days now. Just remember following the surgery that you will feel better with each day that passes.

All my best,

Judy

Thanks Judy...I'll let you know how it goes.

Hello Cathy, I wish you well for your operation and will say a little prayer for you. After surgery try to rest as much as possible. Let others wait on you. Hope to hear positive results next time you post on here Love and best wishes Margaret.

Dear Cathy,

Good luck this week! I will be rooting for you - I've had one too, and just want to mirror what Mary Gladys Mills said - rest easy and stay off of your feet. Give yourself lots of time to heal, and listen to your body. You will do fine - you may have a headache after you come out, but that will go away. You may also have a feeling of 'fullness' in your ear - that's normal too, and will go away. I had double vision after I came out of mine, but that went away as well. So make sure to tell your neurosurgeon about things like this, as well as any other strange symptoms. And please make sure to have someone to take care of you the first week or so that you are home.

Good Luck!

Lily

Thanks ya'll...yes I'm from the south and I say ya'll. I will try to rest afterwards. That's hard for me. I am a little on the hyper side and I don't do sitting down well. I do not know what limitations I will have except that I cannot drive for a week to 10 days. I would like to drive home (4 hours away) on the 9th day after surgery. Wondering if that would be pushing it? Any advice or ideas from anyone is appreciated. Thanks for all the support. This site has been a blessing to me.

Hi Cathy - just wanted to wish you luck - mine is on the 18th - hopefully this means 2011 will be a new start for us :)

Is this an MVD Party?

It is not fair of Vic to be comparing scars unless he takes his hat(s) off; )

As always, my thoughts and prayers will be with you all. bob

I've got my hat bought and I'm ready to wear it! Let's just hope this party goes well. Wish us all luck!

Ha! I got my hair cut about 3 months after my MVD, but forgot to mention it to the hairdresser. He freaked a little... "Oh My God! What happened to your head!!!"

It's been 6 months now, so it doesn't show at all. I still have a "dent" in my head since they didn't put a plate over it, but it has healed nicely!

Good Luck, Y'all!! Hope you'll be pain free for Christmas! What a gift!!

Cathy and Vic, Wishing you the best of luck with your operations and a pain-free New Year.

Thank you Pat. I am nervous. Trying not to think about it too much but the little jolts of pain keep reminding me hopefully soon I will won't have them anymore.

Thanks Nancy. I believe in the power of prayer so with all my friends praying for me I am expecting good results.

praying for you! <3

Prayers going up for you that the love of the Almighty might work through the hands of the Neurosurgeons, that you may take comfort from him in the meantime, for a quick recovery, and success so that you may be restored, body and spirit.

Thank you so much Stef. Your words are comforting to me. Thank you and keep praying. By the grace of God I will get through this.

Hi, Cathy

I do wish you well and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I had MVD surgery 31/2 months ago and have not had any TN pain since surgery. Do plan on getting lots of rest for awhile. Take this time to enjoy being waited on, lots of movies, etc. It gets better with each day and is so worth it.

Prayers and Hugs,

Linda
