I have used ion light copper blond for years and their conditioneras well. I was hoping for less chemicals. It is my understanding Paul Mitchell color is plant derived but I dont think you can buy over the counter. Do you know? Thanks
As far as i know you can't. salon exclusive. I don't see how you can get away from chemicals to lighten. You can probably do a temporary or a no chemical to enhance,or darken, but not permanently change the color. You can darken your hair to a color close to your own and then just do highlights so you are doing damage to less hair as it grows out. But that won't cover grey. Temporary is less damaging but won't lighten, just meant to cover grey to blend in with your natural color.
It has been 8 yrs since I had the salon, there may be some new stuff out there. You can call or go into a salon just to see if there is anything new, and they are usually happy to offer information, just don't get guilted or pushed into anything.
Hope this helps, Joy
Ok You asked! bio=oil, coconut toil-great moistiurizer, vaseline-really dry areas, cream moisturizer and make-up. neutrogena-bod oil for bath, epsom salts-comes in lavender, eucalyptus. all at walgreens. enjoy!
I have found that E45 works really well. Unfortunately I have found that the US doesn't carry it (boo) but as a moisturiser it is wonderful!
Hi,
I just found this discussion forum and I know this posting is fairly old but I would still like to react - I use henna on my hair and I am really happy with the results. It looks a lot more natural than most chemical colors I used in the past and I've had people saying my hair looks healthier now. I used to like semi permanent colors, I'd generally get better results using them then permanent colors, but I had to stop all the chemical stuff all toghether because of eczema that I developed (may not be directly linked to the colors because I've suffered from eczema on and off throughout my life). I find that henna is more gentle on my skin. Hope this helps. oldriska

Hi Joy, I have been thinking about using henna. I am a natural auburn but greying. Have you ever used it?
I would like to color my hair, my roots have not been done since March but am afraid that it will bring the pain back big time. Is it possible. I know it is vanity but it is the one thing that might make me feel more like myself again. Thank you for the tip for dry skin. My skin was so clear now it has no lustre and is dry an flaky on my face. Has gone from typically Irish skin-pale white and soft to felling like sand paper ,on my arms. Is this the meds? or the T.N.? I will buy some vitamin E oil- Thanks Kimburlee. I have been told that dry skin is lack of vitamin D so have been drinking carrot juice daily. Problem is I have always drank carrot juice in the mornings since I was 5 so I am not sure how this will help. Not well enough yet to get out of bed, disorientated and dizzy with lots of sweating so I have no sun. Does anyone know what effect flying has on T.N.??
Too sore to wear ANY make up, can hardly wash my face, even the shower water is too sore. But I'm going to buy some of the vitamin E oil and keep it for when I can use it - it sounds good. Thanks for sharing that. As for the dark circles under the eyes, they will have to stay nasty...don't think we get the roller type concealer here, sounds good though.
I'm loving the tips in this group. I have found that using grapeseed oil on a cotton ball cleans and moisturizes my face really well all at once. The fewer times I have to touch my face the better! I've been doing this for nearly 6 months now and have had the pleasant side effect of thicker and longer eyelashes. That has helped to look a little more alive on those days I can't bear to apply make up. Also, Sephora carries a store brand concealer that is sort of like a marker with a brush tip. It swipes on quite gently and relatively pain free. It offers pretty decent coverage of those black circles we all have under our eyes.
I'm yet to find a way to tweeze my eyebrows without triggering pain. So any tips there would be greatly appreciated.
