And my small little update: i have been pain free since tuesday with just very ting little outbreaks i know its not much but it sure is a start
Thanks janice
I have never seen one, but I do know that many make you sign a contract, usually stating that you'll only get meds from them, and you'll only use on particular pharmacy, etc. Some of them also require monthly to quarterly drug tests. They are testing to make sure you aren't taking anything they didn't prescribe, and they are also testing to make sure you are taking the meds they prescribe. (They fear that people won't take the meds and will sell them on the street instead)
Not all place are like this, but many are. So go in expecting these things.
I'm glad to hear you've had some pain free days. Woo hoo! :)
You should also go in with an idea of what meds you'd like to take. Or at least be aware of the different meds, so if he suggests something, you know how that might for you. Since you' get the shocks, I'm wondering why you're not on Tegretol or Trileptal, along with the gabapentin.
Also, unless you're going to an Orofacial pain center, there's a chance your doctor might not know a lot about TN. Be prepared for that possibility, and do as much research as you can before your appt.
That gabapentin seems to do the trick…along with percocet when needed…i take a total of 2700mg a day of it…an honestly tegretol kinda scares me…ive done ok as far as the side affects…and my primary care doctor was the one who comfrimed it after my dentist just seemed as if i made it up because it happened after a root canal so i went to my dentist and he was like oh its just sinus…and he was like well you do need another root canal in which he did and also 2 layer deep cavities and the pain went away for about a year and then came back wicked bad :/…thats when i went to my doctor…
