Evening all.
My pain can often b in 2 branches all in one day. This eve Iv had shocks to my eye and nose then later cheek and teeth. These r 2 separate branches I know but how many of us suffer in this way?
Thanks Helen xx
I know I get them running to me teeth, jaw, tongue, cheek and then to my temple. However I’m not sure that when I scrunch up against the pain that the pain in my temple is not tension. It’s hard to decipher, but I have read many stories here of people suffering pain in all at once or changing branches. I can honestly say, I hope it never happens to me and I wish it didn’t happen to them, one is enough.
Kind regards
Suzi
Hi Helen,
I have bilateral ATN and I have pain all over my face. Not all at once, thankfully, but the pain can switch location or sides in seconds. I have sensations that last one second and I have some that last days, weeks and even months. I don't think there is any normal with this beast. I have had it for over two years and it just keeps changing.

Thanks ladies . Iv been like this for 4 years it never fails to shock me xxx
Sometimes I'll have pain in one tooth. Sometimes it shoots over to the side of my nose. But the worst is when my eye is in a clamp. I've been having sensations on the other side of my face, but not nearly as bad as the first side.
Hi cindy yes I get mild symptoms on the other side but I ignore them and hope they will disappear!!! Xx
I am an ATN sufferer, so my story may not be the same as yours, but I have had constant pain in the middle and bottom branches on my left side (V2, V3). I am starting to suspect that my others may twinge but as I am now on medications the whole thing feels fuzzier. Good luck!
When my attacks first started they were in all 3 branches, then into upper and lower jaw, then finally mostly to lower jaw. My TN is due to a tooth that needs a root canal...or so I'm thinking. I'm still having pain from lower jaw, into left jaw joint, upper teeth and into nose. It really sucks.
Wow we r all so different. My case began a long time ago with very atypical symptoms. Now I have hemifacial spasms quite badly. I don’t get the more generalised constant pains any more it comes in definate episodes. Such a strange condition.
We definitely are all different. My pain started from a tumor resting on trigeminal nerve. Had the radiation to kill the tumor, and now it is shrinking. My pain was always in my left jaw for the last 5 years. Took Tegretol but got the rash. Then on dilantin and neurotin. Lately, only during holidays, severe pain in jaw and coming down temple area at once. All the doctors due is increase neurotin. This increase just makes me sleep for 3 hours, get up for 1-2 hours, take pills and sleep all over again. If tumor is shrinking, why all the pain. Can't get any answers. This is not a life!

So, your TN comes down your temple area and through the jawline? Mine has been mainly focused on that. When it's really bad, I feel like I have a migraine in the temples and the pain shoots down through the jaw line, as if I had TMJ and it follows the jawline all the way down into the submandibular gland. It really kills and makes me want to shoot my jaw off. I haven't had an MRI yet to tell where it's coming from.
