Hi guys!
I have ATN with periods of TN. I've been lucky really because I've kept the TN pretty much at bay with Tegretol which has left me with deep painful numbness thanks to the ATN. I have aching too, have had all along but it was bearable. Not now. It is deep and unrelenting. My cheek, toungue teeth.........owww.
Now for my question; my neurons has retired so I'm just going to see my doctor and I'd like some suggestions for medication for the ache. What works for everyone else?
Thanks for your input.
I'm bummed that no one replied to this because I really could have used your input.
Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. Sometimes I need to take a break from these forums and try to focus on something other then TN!
I have bilateral ATN. I have had a lot of success with Amitriptyline and Nortriptyline. Nortrip. seems to have less side effects (that is what I am on now) although there were some things I liked better about Amirtrip. It mellowed me out a bit more. I feel a bit edgy on Nortrip. but I have way more energy and focus.
It started in my teeth. I have jaw, cheek, tongue, roof of mouth, ear, temple and left eye. Thankfully not all at once!
Did you already go to see your doctor? What did he/she have to say?
I am sorry too! Unfortnatelly it ist true that you tend to check forums less at times when you feal better. I had the best results with Cymbalta but many side effects. Now I am doing well on Trimipramin.
All the best for you!
Thanks justjane, I haven't seen my doctor yet. She's one of these very busy people that you have to plan to be sick for weeks in advance! I've taken note of your suggestions. Thanks!
Thanks Deanna, I have a few things to take to her now. Thanks for the reply.
