New to TN

Hi Everyone,

Thx so far for your comments and positive words. Diagnosed with MS 8 years ago. Started feeling zaps once in a while nothing consistent. Doctor confirmed I have TN. Used a waterpik a few weeks ago and it ended up dropping me to the floor and landed me in ED. Currently taking Tegretol XR. How will I know what my triggers are. What happens with a trigger - will I get a warning next time.....Is once a trigger... always a trigger? How will I know if I am in remission....RN practitioner said the waterpik caused the TN to flare...so could that be the only flare I have once the meds calm down the nerves? Any other things I should know - scared to death. How will this affect my life. Help.

also forgot to ask..if I am taking meds (Tegretol) will that prevent me from having a flare if I ie. wash my face....etc

I would be careful on that side of your face. Tegretol will help once you get your levels right. Tegretol makes you very tired although I had no problem with taking it the first time I had ATM. Try not to worry and take it easy

I was in remission for 5 years until I needed dental work again
