Neuro in Phila area

I was hoping someone could give the name of a good Neuro in the Phila area. I was hoping to find one that might know a "little" something about TN. It is very hard to find one that does. Appreciate any guidance on this. Thank you

James Evans at Jefferson is my neurosurgeon. He does all of TN cases there. There’s someone at Penn too, but I haven’t seen him and I don’t remember his name. There’s a neurologist at Crozer, Dr. Spears, that has TN experience too.

If you can travel, Dr Jeffrey Brown in Long Island is my neurosurgeon. He is an expert in TN and its treatments. I have traveled from Georgia to see him for three different surgeries this year, and I would not go to anyone else.

yes I have seen Dr. Brown, but at that time I was not ready to do the MVD. What other procedures has he performed on you?

I had an MVD on my right side in January, but due to the length of time that I have had undiagnosed ATN pain (close to ten years) the surgery did not relieve the constant burning boring pain. In August 2013, Dr. Brown implanted a peripheral nerve stimulator on that side to control the pain. That is working very well for me.
Just this past Monday, I had MVD on my left side. So far, my TN pain has been quiet on that side. We are expecting a much better result, as I have on,y had the pains on this side for a year. Next week, I will start tapering off my neurontin.
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Dr. Evans is my surgeon and Dr. Stiles manages the drugs. I love them both. Have not had my mvd surgery yet due to current work schedule but the way the pain has been the past month, it may be sooner than later. With that said, I totally respect and trust both of these men. I work in this field and know many physicians, I highly recommend their services for their clinical expertise and their ‘bedside’ manner/compassion.

Dr. Evans was great. I didn’t have much luck with Dr. Stiles. I’m seeing Dr. Lee at Penn now. I like him better than Evan. He wants to redo the MVD.
