My Treatment for Trigeminal Neuralgia Pain

Hi everyone I just wanted to add that after reading wallax2’s results I have now ordered the same massager and ointment on EBay. I have a very weird pain in my front top left side of my mouth. It started with what was originally diagnosed as a root canal of over 6 years becoming infected. After several other recommended treatments failing I’m left with a very painful top of my mouth. There’s a strange pulling feeling that is so strong on my head and my face. My balance and coordination are off. The Nerve acts like it’s very confused and takes on different sensations throughout the day. I’m able to sleep at night except when I get this stupid restless leg thing going on but then before this nerve pain hit in my face I was able to be very active so I think I’m just getting fed up with this.
I’ve been pain free for only 42 hours or so, in the past 6 years, when a maxilofacial surgeon gave me an injection of steroids right above where the nerve would come out of the very foremost tooth on my left side. He was unable to hit the nerve the same again or the nerve didn’t respond past the first time.
I’m presently on a high dose of gabapentin and a moderate dose of methadone with slight improvements only. I’m getting very frustrated with how long I’ve been suffering.
I’m hoping that the machine helps

I have a success story but to avoid writing it all out I refer you simply to my blog

I suffered 12 years with TN trying different treatments and I finally because of a friends comment tried a vitamin B trio…B1,B6,B12 2 days later pain free or almost and it quickly just disappeared!! it has been only 8 months now but I know it is over! Worth a try so so simple and not expensive!

Thanks for posting your findings. A year or two ago I found that Vitamin B12 in high doses worked as well as the prescription drugs the doctors were giving me. So I was thrilled. Flash ahead 6 months or so and the Vitamin B12 wasn’t working anymore for me. I was depressed that I had to go back taking the powerful drugs that costs so much and helped so little. Perhaps the B-Complex is worth trying too. I will keep that in mind, but for now I’m doing pretty good with this massager treatment I am using right now.

Carey_Larsen, Thanks for responding. I hope the best for you. Although the TN suffers I have read about and have meet suffer pain in the lower jaw area, cheek, or brow. If you go and read reviews of similar devices on Amazon you’ll read that people have been using their devices for foot pain, knee pain, wrist pain, etc with good results. Why haven’t our doctors suggested to try this ultrasonic pain relief. Maybe we already know why ($$$). Keep us informed.

Hi wallax2
I probably didn’t fully explain probably. My pain also does go into my left cheek area with the majority of the hot burning pain centralizing in the area just beside my left nostril and upper left lip area. I do also get pain in the ganglion that you described. My neck is so stiff from this nerve.
If this has worked for other pains then drs should be recommending this but yes it always comes down to $$$. Drs here seem only to be able to prescribe drugs and that’s it. No therapy, nothing else.

Thank u

Hi,

My TN is electrical shocks around my eyes and in my cheek. The pain that is constant is my occipital pain on the side of my head. It feels like I am being scalped all day every day. I also have GPN in my ear.

I feel for you Nora1. Sounds like you are a true suffer. I also suffer from the electric shock symptoms. I remember from your previous post that you can’t take the drugs that may help with the pain you are suffering from. All I can say is this ultrasonic treatment continues to help me. Have you tried warm or cold rice bags? You can heat them up in the microwave or freeze them in the freezer. They feel pretty good until they return to room temp. You can find how to make them online. My wife made me two of them and then I discovered the massager this last December and I’m really doing great with that. There is also the Vitamin B12 treatment. Using Vitamin B12 1000 mcg “timed release” really helped me until it didn’t anymore. I found the B12 at Walmart, I made sure they were the Timed Released version. The Timed Release B12 lasts about 12 hours and then I had to take another. They got me through the day and night until my body built up a tolerance to them and they stopped working after about 8 months. My doctor wasn’t surprised that they had stopped working. I mention the B12 and the heat/cold rice bags with hopes they can provide somebody, who can’t take the drugs, with some sort of relief.

I ordered this on eBay and have the Burt’s bees ready would like to try this the unit came with electrodes do you use those? Thank you for posting and answering I am anxiously waiting to try this

No, what you are referring to is called the EMS function of the massager. I actually threw those pads away. A useless function as far as I’m concern. Please keep us all informed, anxious to hear back from you.

May I ask what setting do you use on the side of this device? Tapping, Massage, Knead, Scrapping or Slimming.

None of them, those settings are for the EMS function which I do not use. All I use is the SONIC function of the massager. The SONIC function has a high and a low setting, and is the ultrasonic sound wave generator which is what I use all by itself. I would not use the EMS at all.

Please read instructions and safety warnings that came with your device. The Sonic and EMS functions are totally different.

The EMS actually will send out small electrical shocks. Who needs that when you have TN to start with?

Thank you. Will update on my progress.

JUst wonder if this device will do the same job you describe here

Chuck,

Yes, I was wondering about ordering one myself. I look for the 1 Mhz sound wave and this one advertises that.
Hope it works for you.

Let me know if you like it.

Thanks for super fast response!!!
I actually have not ordered this one yet. Another one is a little cheaper but it does not show how to switch from continuous mode to pulse mode ( I assume you are using continuous wave on your device?.

I probably order one of these soon after the seller answer my question about how to switch from continuous to pulse and/or vice versa

Yes, the one I have is continuous, it does have a low and a high power setting though.

These devices you mention appear to be shipped from Asia. My experience is that it’ll take 4-5 weeks for them to be delivered. So be aware of that.

If you look on Amazon you can read reviews of different models helping alive pain. None I found addressed Trigeminal or facial pain, but if it helps a nerve pain in the foot or the wrist one would assume it would help us TN sufferers facial nerve pain…and it does.

You might google “PainShields” to visit the website that got me interested in this method of pain relief.

I can tell you Chuck that it has helped me. For the last 24 hours I’ve tried to go without the device and the pain slowly reappeared. So this isn’t a cure-all. But I’m going to order another device for a standby incase the one I’ve been using goes bad.

I found this one on eBay. Seems to be a good price….

Amazing price! The more we dig into this type of device, the better price we found. Thanks

I just bought one from the eBay link you sent to me. Will try it out within 3-4 weeks.
