I have my MVD scheduled for October 18th at the Nebraska Medical Center. It will be done by Dr. Follet assited by Dr. Moore.
I do plan on keeping a very detailed journal so I can post it on here. I will charge my mother with updating it the first couple days after surgery.
Right no I find it is best for me to foucs on the after care. reading list, working out, having a get together with friends when healed. It keeps me from freaking out about it.
Hi Mandie
I had my mvd on 11 June here in Belfast northern Ireland. The first couple of days post op are rough but it gets better. Unfortunately I developed a CSF wound leak on 11 July which they haven’t yet resolved. The TN pain is gone which is the main thing. I will get a good outcome for my leak too im sure, im resisting a shunt but its a struggle against the doctors so far. Very best wishes for your surgery and I look forward to reading your journal. Pauline
I know exactly what you are going through, I'm scheduled for MVD on Sept. 4th at Mass. General Hospital in Boston. I'm planning on what to cook/freeze and what I should purchase for the first few days home (jello, soft foods). At times I get nervous too, but each time I get a zing I think that I won't have one next month!
I am lucky to be recouping at my parents house. I will have them and my 4 legged best friend.
Good Luck to you Mary!!
