Has anyone had more than 2 MVD's? I had my first in 2011 then second in 2015 and its back again. My quality of life has drastically decreased over the last 3 weeks and I cannot continue on the medicine. I'm 27 and really not looking for a destructive procedure yet. Sorry this is my second post in 1 day I'm just desperate for help!

As you may be aware there are many causes of TN, including connective tissue diseases. You may or may not have other symptoms of connective tissue disease, but I do wonder how many folk might have TN as the first sign. After two MVD's if it hasn't already been ruled out, it may be a consideration, especially if you have other signs/ symptoms.
Not saying this pertains to yourself but it is said some 5% of TN is circa due to a certain illness of scleroderma. There are many other connective tissue disorders that are implicated with TN, which potentially brings the 5% to a lot higher.
The link on this site, http://www.livingwithtn.org/page/work-up-for-tn , is of interest, and again why shouldn't TN be the first symptom?- connective tissue disorders start somewhere. In my experience, not talking TN, but musculoskeletal disorders it is relatively common.
