Microvascular decompression

If anyone has had this microvascular decompression done I would like to hear your experience! I am 29 years old. I was just diagnosed this year with TN. I have struggled with this pain since 2009. The left side of my face was fractured, needing a titanium plate installed to repair the damage. This has since caused the TN. I have tried more medications than I can remember, I have had unsuccessful nerve blocks and now I will be having a this microvascular decompression done. As anyone else I searched the internet which has left me terrified. So please if anyone has had this I would love to hear about it! Thank you for taking the time to read this and respond!

I flew to see the best i could…dr. Ken Casey

That was oct. 2011… I did it after one year of TN. I Was in remission at the time, but i hated the meds and watched his two hour video.

I had my surgery…drove home…and 11 weeks later it came back 20%…went back on meds and 12 weeks after that…no meds no pain. None since.

I would hope you could find the link to Success Stories… Im there somewhere. Have to trust your surgeon ! I believe that is number one !

Please stay positive and stay away from horror stories.

Hi Mel, I have TN with no surgical/dental/physical injury cause. I had MVD in August 2012 and got 2 years good relief following. I am not sure that MVD has a good record of relieving TN caused by injury to the nerve on the face, only helps as far as I know if the issue is blood vessel pressing on nerve as it exits the brain stem. Has your surgeon done heaps of MVD’s?
