Medications and driving

Does anyone else not drive because of the side effects common with many of the drugs we take? I am obviously a special case because I’m not far out fromy second mvd and on a lot of pain killers, but I remember when I was on a high dose of tegretol really being out of it and having vision problems. The neurontin makes me pretty sleepy, so that’s a little worrisome. Most people only think about not driving when we’ve had too much to drink, but medications and driving should be considered as well.

I’m not driving ( it sucks! Lol) for over a year now, at first it was due to severe vertigo, now mostly due to meds…
It’s been a hard adjustment as I was (am) very independent.

I dont feel I can safely drive at all while taking tegratol and neurontin. Fortunately I have an adult daughter willing to run errands and play taxi driver!

I haven’t been driving either due to Neurontin and the attacks themselves being pretty distracting!

I take 400mg of lyrica at 4pm each day. I choose not to drive after taking it due to the reality that it is no different in my opinion than drinking and driving. I can not and will not put others lives in danger of my ignorance.
