Driving

Hi, I am on day 2 of taking the medication.. which so far the only side effect is complete exhaustion ... I do a lot of driving with my work ( I am off this week ), will this sleepiness pass ? and will i be OK to drive next week.. have a great day all ..

Hi Teri, medication side effects are different for everybody, but for most, it just takes a little while for your body to get used to it, then the side effects usually pass, ie sleepiness, blurred vision etc that Carbamezapine causes. Hang in there, because the side effects usually outweigh the relief from the pain. I hope things get better for you.

Thank you Gen ... have a positive day .. this site is just wonderful

a great resource for side effect info is your pharmacist : )

Hi Terry...

i take carabamazepine, neurotin, and baclofen...and at first after started each one, i was a mess...but yes, now i can drive and whatever else. it took me a while to adjust to each one, but i did get used to them.

Wishing you peace,

~Mistee

Hey Terry, I am an insurance adjuster and drive approx 110-150 miles a day. Before I had the MVD, and was on either tegretol or Lyrica, plus the narcotics for pain, I was unable to work. I was dizzy, exhausted and you name it on them. some people fare better than I did, my body hates any medications.

The fact that you are only tired is a good sign and hopefully soon you will feel much better!
