Mandibular nerve hypersenitivity

Hi Everyone, new here and first post. I had an operation 30yrs ago to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed. This resulted in Trigeminal pain on my left side. After trial and error found a homeopath who gave me arnica and hypericum . This calmed things but not cured. I managed. January this year saw dentist for new bottom denture. This was made too high and traumatised the nerve again through compression. Doc put me om Lyrica which "worked " but ended up in accident and emergency due to severe side effects gasping for breath ataxia, migraines , memory loss etc. Doc taking me off this gradually but pain back . Not in a good place. Going to try Homeopathy again . Has anyone else got such issues through nerve compression ? Love to hear from you. Thought I was over all this now it's "Groundhog day"

Regards

Nick

So sorry to hear this! I wish I had some advice for you. But I did want to acknowledge your first post and welcome you to the site. I don't get on here as often as I used to. I am also sending you a friend request. (((((((HUGS))))))))

Hi tiger4nikki , good to hear from you. Thanks for the welcome . Obviously your TN must be of different origin to mine . I wish you well with this. How are you coping. I find things very difficult. Went back to docs today and she has upped my Lyrica again despite side effects . Wants me to phone tomorrow to say how I am

Regards

Nick

I am TN1, lower left jaw. I am on tegretol, 1600mgs a day now. I am tired, forgetful, have breakthrough pain every now and then (doc gave me some 100mg chewables to help me when that happens). He also says I can't go much higher on my meds and he doesn't like to add meds to it because it's not helping me, just masking. If I don't go into remission and start having bad attacks again, we will probably have to do something (MVD). It's hard, but I survive. Hope you adjust to your meds a little.

Hi Tiger4nikki , My medication has been increased as doc thought I was coming off them too fast. I am also lower left jaw that travels around the trigeminal. I have had some massage and my neck muscles are full of trigger points. which also affect the pain. What does MVD mean ? Not feeling good today . Let me know how you are doing .
