So I have made up my mind. I am going to have the MVD as well as sectioning of the Nervus Intermedius.
I know that people will say to not section any nerves, but with Geniculate Neuralgia the research shows that it helps. I have not scheduled the surgery yet, as there will be two neurosurgeons and they need to schedule a time that works for both of them.
I am still terrified, but after three years I cannot take it any more.

Good for you at this point if they can help you surgically with the pain, why wait if meds do not work any longer. I wish you the very best and will say a prayer for you. Keep us posted on your OR date.

I know it’s scary, and there are never guarantees, BUT we must all individually try and do what’s best for us. I know you’ve been researching and as long as you feel the neurosurgeons involved are highly qualified then you must try and do anything you can.
