Lyrica Withdrawal

Hello forum,

I recently, 2 weeks ago, had to stop taking Lyrica as it was giving me a rash. I was taking 300mg a day of it and the maximum recommended dosage is 600mg...

Anyways, ive been having a withdrawal symptom where my heart beats really hard and fast at night whilst trying to get to sleep. Ive poked around on the internet and this is a withdrawal symptom many other people are having. It is a very scary situation, let me tell you. It seems that this can last months after discontinuing the drug. The rash is slowly receding, I think, but ive read first person accounts where they say the rash has continued on for them over a year!

Is there anything you think I can do ??? other than wait it out ... I dont mind the rash as it has stopped itching now... im more worried about these heart pulpitations at night... It hasnt been every night, just 1 in 3 and im sure its due to the lyrica withdrawal as it started the very night after i stopped taking...

Thanks Luke

Hi Luke. I used to take Lyrica long time ago. I took it for 6 months. I stopped due to the rash as well. The rash did not last long after stopping. I was also takin Cymbalta at the time as well. They didn’t know which one was doin it so they took me off both… Min

Thx for your response Min  its good to hear other peoples experiences…

so taking more lyrica made the withdrawal symptoms retreat ? ... You are right i should visit my Dr. about this. I mentioned it to her when i saw her last friday but i hadnt had any symptoms for a few days at the time and we thought it had passed. How long did your withdrawal last ?

Given what ive been through these past 3-4 weeks i never would have started taking Lyrica. I was only on it for about 3 months i think combined with my other medications.
