Long term TN issues and complications prior to surgery and does Teflon work

How have those of you faired with long term TN and after years, have finally gone through the MVD surgery procedure.
I have had TN for 6 years . Meds have helped, but no longer. I am finally having the MVD surgery.
I have been told that the Vertibral artery and basicellar artery ( spelling ) are compressing on the nerve. I have read that sometimes that since these vessels have been sitting on the nerve for a long time, they can sometimes be adhered to the nerve. How many of you have had issues with this happening and how are you fairing after this surgery.
As I think about an adhesion, how in the heck can the surgeon separate these from each other without cutting them? Surely don’t want to stroke out ?
Also been reading that the Teflon pledgets sometimes are not designed for long term use and that they finally dissolve. What other options are there for avoiding a second surgery to replace them later ?? Thanks BB
