Little lost

I have done research on TN and have an understanding of what I have, and a somewhat good idea of some of my triggers and boy this winter in NY has been brutal on my face. I see a neurologist and he keeps giving me a higher dose of my Meds tegertol and gaba. But the side affects are making me so tired. I work in a hospital and can not be tired at my job but if the dose goes down the pain is worse. I don’t take any narc. Pain Meds just ibuprofen as I am tired enough from my regular Meds. I am not sure if my neurologists fully understands where I’m coming from and there are not too many neurologists where I live. If anyone has any suggestions for me on pain control and being tired please feel free to help. I am open to any advice

I recommend that you ask for lidocaine cream for your face

Until you find another neurologist - might have to drive an hour.

Have you read Striking Back by Dr. Ken Casey?

Most of our meds list ARE heavy sleepy. Some get PRN Ritalin to get their work done.

Morphine and that class of meds don't work.

Have you considered MVD surgery? Best within first 5 years of TN starts pain.

here is a list of our favorite meds:

Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciate it. I have thought about surgery but really on the fence. I suppose fear has a good hold on me. I am going to ask about face cream and willing to drive to find a new neurologist Thanks again
