Well this last couple of weeks has been a never ending cycle of chasing results and chats with consultants. But to basically cut a long story short, we now think it it GPN, I tick all of the boxes for that, and my pain consultant wasnt too encouraging about it, I am getting started on Venlafaxine, but she asked the surgeons what my options were for this and the surgeons said that there was no one in scotland that will do the even the nerve block, never mind the decompression, and as far as they are aware there is no one in the whole of the uk that will do it. ( there might be folk that are willing to do it, but not that have the experience, and it is a riskier op than a TN MVD because of the proximity to the vascular nerves and arteries and stuff) so even though my neuro is sending the scan results on for the surgeons to look at there is sodd all that they will do about it because they’ve already said there is no one in the country who will help.

So that is a very long story short, but this week I have started in a new role at work so have been training and havent afforded myself the option of dealing with this.

So here I am and here it is. Not a happy bunny but I thought I should come on and give you lovely for an update. x x x

I’m new on here. I am sorry for your unproductive doctor visit. I am sorry for your pain.

Hi Elizabeth, thank you and welcome to this very unfortuanate club.x x

Oh Grace, sorry to hear of the less than encouraging news from the doctors and surgeons. I’ll be sending you my best wishes as you start the new medication and the new position at work. Keep us posted on how things go!

Thanks sarah, much appreciated hun, just have to muddle through really, not much else we can do! x x x
