I was just wondering if anyone out there taking or have taken Lamictal ever got a rash from it. I have sebborhic dermatitis which is a condition of redness and flaking of the skin on the face and scalp. However it has gotten pretty bad since a few days after starting the medication. The funny thing is the last time I was having a big flare-up I took the meds and didn't have this problem. So, I went to my dermatologist today and she says that yes I do have the dermatitis but that it also looks like an allergic reaction. She put me on a dose of oral steroids, topical steroid and a yeast cream b/c if it is just the sebborhea then the yeast cream should help b/c it is caused by an overabundance of yeast on the skin. One good thing that she did say is that so far it has not spread to anywhere else. My arms, chest, legs, are completely clear. So, we shall see what the meds do. I was crying in the office b/c this medication has been really helping with my TN symptoms and I really don't want to have to go off of it and be in alot of pain. Back when I was first diagnosed I tried tegrotol, trileptal and neurontin with no relief. It was only when I started the Lamictal that I received relief. I just hope and pray that this is just a dermatology problem and not a true medication allergy. I don't know what I will do if I have to stop taking the meds!!! Thanks for listening. Hope everyone is having a good and pain-free day.
