KTRose's First TN Attack 1 Year Ago Today

Only you all, who understand the horrible beast that is TN can understand our joy and thankfulness on this anniversary. KTRose is, right now, away at camp with a group of her girlfriends. I trust she is having a wonderful time swimming, doing archery, canoeing, and who knows what else - but definitely NOT worrying about TN.

One year ago today, she had her first attack. Wow.

December 4th, she had MVD.

Her last TN Pain was about 4-5 months ago.

Since then she has returned to a normal 12-year-old life. After all that she went through, including those exasperating meds that literally made her walk into a column in our house one day as well as screwed with her math ability in a huge way... her standardized testing even came out with a nice improvement over last year with no accommodation. I can't believe it either!

I'm so emotional today thinking back on all we went through. I'm amazed she's doing so well and still have times I'm afraid to hope that it really is all gone.

I pray that everyone here can one day be able to say the same thing!

As a mom I celebrate with you, I understand your being emotional, and feel such joy that KTRose is living life as a “normal” young girl should!! As a TN and recent mvd patient I understand that fear and gratitude as well.
Enjoy! May it last and last…

You have saved your daughter from years of pain. I agree with Mimi and may it last…

I am new to the site, but read this blog and am so happy for your daughter and your family. I am on the other end of life. I am 60 and suffered with TN for 6 years before having mvd surgery. I am 2 months post surgery and have had no recurrence. There is hope and I read so many sufferers who have lost hope. I feel now that there was a reason for me to go thru this and come out on the other side well; to share the story of hope and help those going thru this life changing condition.

Blessings on your lovely daughter and your family!!
