Is there any chance in the world that vitamins make pain worse?

This is a crazy question because everything I've read says that drugs like Tegretol deplete the body of vitamins. But I notice a pattern where every time I take a vitamin, sometime shortly after, my pain increases. I keep thinking it must be a coincidence but it's happening again today. After three days of adding 400 mg of gabapentin to my 1600 mg of tegretol, I was feeling some relief. But I took a Centrum multivitamin at 3pm and here I am, right back where I was before, getting zapped (that's what I call it) every time I move my mouth.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there any science to support it? I can find nothing. Feeling a little crazy with this one but I have to ask.

Thanks.

It's possible that some vitamins could decrease the efficacy of your meds. Since you're taking a multivitamin, it would be harder to pinpoint which one is the culprit.

I would do a google search asking "what vitamins interact with tegretol" or something like that. There are tons of sites out there that have this info. Also, a call to your pharmacist might help. A good pharmacist is an under utilized resource. I know I don't use mind like I should...

Try a week without vitamins!
