Is anyone's TN pain worse in the morning?

Hi Everyone,

Looks like this subject may have been quiet for awhile, but since I am a new member I have something to add, and a couple of questions.

First in order to keep my pain under to control, I try to keep my meds on a schedule, that includes getting up in the middle of the night to go the restroom, and wash a couple of pills (trileptol 300mg) down my throat, so I can brush my teeth in the morning, etc.

Now, moving on to the LTD subject that was also brought up. Weird thing that is happening with me: Although I was on short term after my MVD surgery, I did go back to work, but then went back on short term because of back surgery that followed. I exhausted all of my STD time. In the meantime, a company came in and bought my company out. But "Guardian" ( the insurance company ) is still working with me to get me the LTD. I want them to focus on the TN, not the back issues. Do we know if getting LTD for TN is pretty successful? At this point, I put myself through working the last 10 years with this, and I am over the anxiety.. I've explained in another post that I was in a really high stress job in telecom, and have no desire to go back into that environment, especially as a client support manager. Having to support major account that are nationwide, and having to get up for presentations and such, I just cant anymore...

Ok, so if anyone knows about the success rate with this, I'd appreciate any info. Oh by the way, I took the severance package with my former employer, so I am now a statistic ( On unemployment ), and my husband is on SSD, making a whopping $502 / month.. 'cause he got a raise this year ! WHOO HOO !! :p

Thanks Everyone !
Pam

Pam, I asked Gary for his advice on LTD first and he told me to get all of my doctor's records in case they didn't send everything to the LTD carrier. It was good advise. I was approved for LTD through CIGNA. I think the key is your doctors' support with their documentation of your disability. I net with each of my doctors to discuss my TN, pain, issues at work(cognitive work like yours is difficult with TN due to med side effects and facial pain) and symptoms: fatigue, blurry vision, difficulty concentrating, etc. Best of luck on your LTD. You will also be asked to apply for Social Security.
