Unfortunately your symptoms are normal for TN. At least you are not crazy! Sorry your are having to deal with this.
So sorry to say this, but like you have read already, your symptoms sound like ATN. I have been diagnosed with ATN and have almost identical symptoms to yours, even the side of the face is the same. I have been suffering from this pain for years but was only officially diagnosed a few months ago. It has been a long struggle, but I think that you will find this group so helpful. If for no other reason for the support of having people who understand where you are coming from. Don't be discouraged if they find no "visual" proof of TN on your MRI. That does not mean that your issue is in your head. There is sometimes no obvious reason, but that doesn't change the diagnosis. Good luck and keep your chin up! With the help of meds I have really good days/weeks now, which is better than the pain I suffered every day for years prior to finding my neurologist!!
