hi i had my mvd on june 18th, i am home now. the first 2 days my pain level was a 3 from over a 10. today its was a 10. i was confsued so i call my doc, he said this can be normal for weeks or months after, because the nerve has to heal. has anyone also have pain still after the surgery? well i will have to keep praying for the best outcome. thanks for all you prayers. love michelle
Up again late huh?
I don't think your after-surgery narcotics are working to optimal capacity - I may be wrong
Did you ever get some lidocaine patches from doctor?
Is the pain exactly the same place/intensity/degree as before MVD?
hi kc , the pain used to change in the tooth different places, now seems to be really sharp pain in my tooth when it would be at my worst before the mvd.
I have been reading and hopping that I would hear someone who has had MVD have a good outcome. It infuriates me that with all the pain you have all gone thru you all say the same thing and your Drs tell you all the same thing. My daughter had her surgery 11/4/2011 and her doctor still tells her to be patient. I wish these doctors had just a small taste of what it is like. I watch my daughter trying to endure her pain and hers is a lot worse since she had her surgery. It just breaks my heart to see her in so much pain and I can't help her. Today she had a new pain she said it felt like everything in her head felt like it was being sucked out thru her mouth. One side of her face is numb and it doesn't look like that will be changing. If anyone knows of anyone that has a success story, please tell me. Michelle I hope you are the one that has that success story.
God bless you.

Michelle I so hope this all goes well for you, I had my appointment with Hopkins and MVD is not looking good for me , but I am still hoping..one never knows. I hope this passes for you and you will be pain free

Vonni --- I am thus far a success story --- It takes a year for the nerves to fully settle -- my year won't be up till October.
I had MVD by one of THE - best docs - few out of state for him
At week 11 my pain started coming back --- that was 5 months ago -- since then TN is 90+ % gone in frequency
and 80% + less in intensity.
Many people who have not had success - end up at my doctor in Michigan --- Ken Casey -- he learned from the "inventor" of MVD
However, it just doesn't work for some people the first time -- I would be prepared to have it done again I think
Some people have had 3x before success
Some it just does not work at all for.
