Greeting new members

Say Hello or Hi and use their Name,

Then welcome them. Make them feel at home with us. Guide them to our Face pain info tab at some point in the welcome paragraph as this is important information for all of us. Just be yourself and be sincere, we all have one big thing in common,... the pain. You may want to point out that we have sub groups they may like to join.

If it is a relative that is joining for their family member.. I usually point out that we have a sub group for family members. We are all here for support of each other, that is the main thing to convey and I am sure that if you are reading this and want to help greet people here on our site... That you will do fine!! Also send friend requests to them as this makes them feel welcome as well.

It's reallly tough in the beginning when you first find out you have TN, as I am sure you know. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a message.

Min, I remember when I joined, I was so amazed that two members wrote to me almost immediately and made me feel validated and at home. I doubt I would have become so involved without those greetings. They may not know it but it made my week and I say “thank you so much Scott and Rick” you cannot imagine how happy you made me.

Great intro Min, I don’t think you left anything out. Because the other mods and I will continue to clear out the spam and other invalid memberships it should be just as you stated. Joining the greeters group will be a great way for members to feel more connected to the group and a great opportunity to give back.

One More thing. Just click on MEMBERS at the top header bar to see the new members. That is the only thing I can think of. But that I think most people know.

I no longer see the member tab since the members map was added I think. To get to the recently added members now, greeters would scroll down to members on the main page and click view all, then confirm its sorted by recently added. Should we add this above Min?

Well, Elaine go to MEMBERS on the black header and you will see everyone who has joined in sequence. Also if you go to Your page then Settings and click on that you can then go to Email settings and adjust accordingly.

I use the email function to get emails everytime someone joins. Of course, this might overwelm your email box. :)

I joined this site I believe towards the end of 2010, but I am not sure. It was some time after all of my failed procedures. None the less, I then did a disappearing act. I ended up moving from Seattle, WA to Cleveland Ohio to be back with family for support
