Great Doctor in Michigan

There is a great doctor in Owosso Michigan. Dr. Rany Aburashed. He knew almost immediately what was wrong and he's very personable. Every time I have shown up early and they got me right in for my appointment. He also listens and explains things pretty well and answers any questions you may have.

What do you have Type I or Type II? I am in Grand Blanc, Mi and will be looking for a neurologist. I have just been told by an ENT that I have TN and will be going for an MRI then on to a neurologist. From all my reading I'm guessing I have TYPE II.

Atypical it’s what he diagnosed me with. My main symptom is headaches with some facial pain and electric shock. He is great and I highly recommend him. He even takes Medicaid.

mpurcey, thanks so much for message yesterday! Sounds like you have a very busy life. I so wish you didn't have to deal with tn also. Your message reminded me of the question I had wanted to ask back then because back then my tn was soooo out of control I was barely functioning now 7 mo.'s later I am functioning midnight hours have been the best. (change in meds.) PRAISE THE LORD! I still want to see another GOOD neurologists for like, I don't know maybe a tenth or so opion, after 20 yrs. I think I will hang on to my neuro but he's open to any help with my case he can get .(lol) Back some months ago I did find his no. and called the office I was told they don't take Medicaid. Those were the two questions I had for you.Maybe they just don't take my type of medicaid. I will though, try and find his name and no. again, it won't hurt to call and check again. I am stilled scared of this disease and what it can feel like from min. to min. So as of this I don't have a backup plan. I have noved up to living hour by hour instead of sec. by sec. So I think I am doing pretty good now instead of HORRIBLE.Sure hope you have found some relief also. Sorry for babbling on.(I blame it on my meds. Lol) Wishing you painfree days! Dawn

It could be the plan that you have they don't take. I know I switched from Health Plan of Michigan to McLaren mostly because McLaren had the docs in it I wanted to stay with. I went in yesterday and we had to up my meds and now it's looking more and more like we will be doing some type of surgery. He prefers gamma knife. The surgeon I went to before died the weekend before I went to see him so the partner of the office was put off by me even being there. Not my fault I never got the message. So Dr. Rany told me he would send me somewhere else. At this point it's not extremely horrible but it's constant and that is a pain as well. I switched medication to gabapentin and was not preventing getting pregnant but not trying either (if that makes sense) but the pain was so much that I couldn't do it so we went back to tegretol and indomethacin. Let me know if you need the numbers again. His name is Rany Aburashed and his practice is in Owosso.

I was able to get in to see Dr. Kenneth Casey. He is in Trenton, MI. After reading so much about TN and reading the book he co-authored, Striking Back, I knew I had to see someone who specializes in this. He was excellent! I originally had a diagnosis of TN, but Dr. Casey told me I do not have TN but I do have Trigeminal Neuropathy with neuropathic face pain. So glad I went to him because the medication and future treaments are different from TN.
