Glycerol injection

Hiya,
I had the glycerol injection Wednesday (29th May) and I do know that its only been 6 days since having it but I don’t have pains like I had before. Hurray!!! However i still can’t feel my teeth, and my face is still numb but hurts like hell. Even my hairline hurts to touch. My left eye feels weird and the sunlight hurts my eye and the left side of my face is still a bit swollen. I keep getting dizzy spells as well and i just feel uncomfortable as well. Did anyone else feel like this after this type op?

I had a worse recovery from the glycerine rhizotomy than I did the MVD, I felt miserable after it and had a lot of pain. I also developed TMJ,( it felt like I kept getting punched in the face) but found with the help of an amazing Physicians Asst, that putting a warm heating pad on that side of my face did wonders. I also had dizzyness afterwards, and really felt like total crap for the first week. It gets a ton better after that. I think by week two I was much better, and it did get rid of the TN strikes, but for me it did not help the ATN

Hope you feel better soon

I had a lot of pain after my glyercol rhizotomy. I was out of school for a week... However, it gets better. The injection pain slowly but surely diminished!

Thanks both. It’ll be a week tomorrow so hoping that it all settles down soon. It is feeling better, but getting the dizzy feeling still. But the TN pain is definitely gone.
Have either of you had the TN pain come back?

I had an MVD after the rhizotomy in October of last year, I am 90% pain free. I am currently awaiting treatment for an auto-immune disorder (see my post about waiting for and answer) that they believe will get rid of the remaining pain. The belief is that this disorder caused the TN. I mostly have the boring ear pain and the teeth start to hurt here and there, but nothing I cant tolerate. The rhizotomy only got rid of the lightning strikes , not the a-typical pain, and I ended up having the MVD 3 months after the rhizotomy

Crashgirl, I read your post about what’s going on and I am so sorry that your going through all that you are. Hopefully your neurologist will be able to get in touch with the dr and you can start to get sorted.
Thank you for replying to me even through all the pain that your going through.
