saw a post in the ATN group and couldn't respond cause i'm not part of that group. I don't have ATN so i didn't want to join. I have TN on the right side of my face. but this was the issue:
reading glasses bother me on the right side (TN side) of my nose and behind the ear. but my contacts also bother me on the bottom eye lid. when it gets real bad i have to go without which is really hard because I can hardly see. does anybody else have this issue?
I have the same problem and like you it's a difficult position, because without the glasses I can't see either. My vision is reduced to just coloured blurs. It's distressing without my glasses because I cannot even walk around my own home without running into things - but I've gotten to a point where I realised I'd rather take the glasses off, put on some relaxing music and try and just sit in my comfy chair till the pain goes away again - it used to upset me a great deal more - but I find it easier to manage now - I'd rather get rid of my pain first than be able to see all the time :-( sounds bad - but the pain is scarier than loss of vision right now. I cannot wear contacts because the contacts I need don't correct astigmatism which I also have to varying severe degrees in both eyes.
I just got bifocals for the first time in March. My Tn started kicking up about the same time. I asked my doctor if there could be a connection? Of course he said there was no data supporting this. I got contacts and seem to do much better with contacts and readers. If its a long stressful day, there is nothing I can do, just drug up.
I cannot wear glasses and my vision is getting worse. I do have a pair that are very small - just bare fit the necessary size for bifocals so don’t bother my nose quite as much, and the arms curve out so don’t rub against my face. But my ear cannot handle it on most days. I wish there was another way because soon I too will not be able to read anything without them.
