Before getting a correct TN diagnosis I went through two nasal endoscopic surgeries and several frustrating visits to my dentist, I eventually discovered that the medical community where I live has created a veritable landscape littered with quicksand for TN sufferers. When I first began experiencing full blown TN episodes, my Primary Care Physician sent me through the ceiling when his examination entailed probing around my face (as simple as touching a face might sound, it still ranks in my top 5 most painful episodes of TN).
The doctor left his practice before I could tell him about the actual TN diagnosis given years later
An uninformed medical community is dangerous because it is so capable of making victims out of victims, so that is why sites like this are so important. It is vitally important that the community get educated…anyone have suggestions?
