I was wondering if anyone has followed the med guidelines for phantom pain syndrome after pain has returned?
I haven’t done surgery myself, it just crossed my mind than these surgically processes could fall in line with amputation nerve damage.
Maybe those protocols could be applied to these issues?
I had gamma knife 2yrs ago that was not effective.
A year later nerve resection for GPN.
The pain was greatly reduced for the 1st 30 days after surgery.
The pain has returned to the same or higher levels 1 year post surgery.
Phantom pain has crossed my mind.
The neurologist is baffled at this point.
