I had my first appt with a facial pain/headache specialist. He is thinking I have some sort of TN/cluster headache combo. I have never even considered the cluster headaches but my sister does suffer from them. I came away with 4 new prescriptions and orders for an MRI and MRA. He’s gradually taking me off that evil, evil drug carbamazepine and switching me to oxcarbazepine. He’s adding 3 new prescriptions Ketorolac injection as needed for pain, diclofenac potassium daily as needed for headache and diclofenac potassium powder packet daily as needed for headache. He told me I was a very unique case but that I had came to the right place to get help! If there is anyone in the north Texas area needing a doctor, I highly recommend Dr Joseph Vaughn with UT Southwestern in Dallas. Both my husband and I were very impressed with his knowledge and understanding.
