My neurosurgeon at UPMC (Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presby), Dr. Sekula performed a difficult surgery to remove my meningioma which was believed to be the cause of ATP, TN1, TN2, however it was not, the pain is back the same as prior to surgery.
I went to Dr. Lim at Johns Hopkins in Maryland, who indicated that there was nothing he could do and referred me to Dr. Nandan Lad at Duke University Hospital, NC. Dr. Lim indicated that Dr. Lad "thinks outside of the box" and could give some ideas about what to do and believed he could help me. Has anyone had experience with Dr. Lad or Duke University Hospital?
Hi Prudence – Dr. Sekula performed my MVD in October. I haven’t totally weaned off the meds and am doing great. Fingers crossed that this will continue once I attempt to decrease the meds again next week. I am sorry you are still seeking a solution to your pain.
Dr. Lim was my second choice… and I looked into docs at Duke, but didn’t come across Dr. Lad. I am very interested in knowing how things go if you see him. Prayers for you!! – Juliet

Have you been to see Dr. Lad at Duke University Hospital yet? The doctors at Johns Hopkins recommended him to me as well this week. If you have had an appointment, how long did it take to see him? Was he able to help you? Thanks so much!
