Dispair, disappointment and unleashed new pain...thought i had mastered my ability to live with this, but new jolt is more than i can handle

M.M.,

I hope you have a support person close-by to help get you horizontal (in bed), warm and calmed-down so you can sleep.

For tomorrow, remember that it takes time to find the proper meds/dosage levels to get you to a good place. I'm struggling with that at the moment as well. (Type1 TN since Dec. 2008; L. side, lower gum-line, cheek, behind eye/nose).

Blessings,

Rick

Melinda Marie, please tell us a bit more about your situation, medications, and local support network? Whom do you have nearby to help you?

Regards, Red

Do you have any type of doctor that would call in lidocane for you --- comes in patch and cream -- patch works best for my breakthrough pain.

It has been a miracle for some of those jolts before and after my MVD

Melinda,

I sure hope that you're now getting some relief from your pain... Here are a few tips I copied from the LwTN member Forum Discussion thread from today. Maybe you'll find a suggestion or two that you find helpful...

I have some lidocaine gel for another condition, and just now I rubbed it on my temple, jaw and in front of my ear...I'M AMAZED! I don't know how long this relief will last for, but I think I've discovered something good! Another friend tells me that natural Arnica gel helps her. I just want to shout about lidocaine from the rooftops. There is even a lidocaine patch that you can put on the area, but lidocaine has to be used carefully, it can cause heart beat changes if too much is used. We need to find a way to tell everyone about lidocaine. I''ll wait a little while to see just how long this relief lasts before I write about it in more places, because if I have to reapply constantly, that's too much lidocaine for the body to handle.

M.M. Also found this Link that may help you! (Below...) Rick

I used some Orajel, when I didn't have medication. Have you seen a doctor to get some Neurontin(gabapentin)?
