Dental Malpractice Lawyer Recommendation

My pain started immediately after a dental procedure by a very bad Dentist. I was wondering if anyone has had any success in pursuing dental malpractice with TN, and if so the name of the lawyer that you used. I am in Michigan. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Andrew,

I had my wisdom teeth removed which caused a bone infection which lead to my TN. I live in California and contacted two medical malpractice lawyers and was told that they wouldn’t take my case as it didn’t cause enough catastrophic injury. They said the only cases that make money are those where the patients are killed or in a vegetative state, so they weren’t interested in my case.

Hopefully you have better luck

I sent you a personal email as well. You also can email me at ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ … Or send reply here.

As far as suing… I called the only dental malpractice in the greater Kansas City area.

This was 2011… he told me that unless i could get somebody in the dental arena, that would say definitely that this oral surgeon gave me TN…

BUT nobody would …they protect each other.

I called UMKC Dental School, talked to the CHAIR of dentistry…asked if TN could be caused by a bad extraction…he said NO. DARK AGES

the lawyer then told me that the lady before me, had gotten TN tried to sue this bastard…And HIS LAWYER made her out to be psychologically nuts… Because no proof.

As a former patient, and a therapist, once you get over the Initial stages of anger…if you cant sue… Even if you can… Start researching YOUR BEST outcome treatments. its the best revenge!

Took me 1.5 years to get out of the anger, PTSD, depression, why me,
That we ALLLLL here go through.

I agree Cleo. Very bad advice especially when you don’t live in the same state.
I live in MI and I know both of these Attorney’s-Sean Heck or Kevin Oliver. Both in Detroit metro. Kevin is a shark won 3 cases for me after a terrible car accident. Sean is a friend and has been around attorney’s since the womb.

Just out of curiosity, are these lawyers that specialize in dental malpractice?

You sure are not alone in getting TN after a botched dental procedure. The percentage of TN sufferers with that as the start is huge! I haven't heard of anyone actually suing the dentist. I found this site for you. Best wishes on that, Many of us wish we had done the same.

Here is a whole page of Michigan dental malpractice sources.http://bit.ly/1g4B85j

No they do not practice Dental Malpractice only. They both practice Personal Injury Protection, Medical Malpractice and some criminal cases.
There seems to have to have been some malpractice against these Dentist’s at fault at some time otherwise I guess so many with TN wouldn’t literally have been kicked out of the DDS office or told they do not accept patients with TN.
Every state is different in what can happen in a malpractice suit.
Call or send an email. It’s what they do and the worst they can say is “no.” Both have looooong standing roots in the above courts.
Let me just warn you though that if you do decide to sue, it is extremely stressful. Opposing counsel will turn your life upside down. Be prepared to have the process last about 2.5 - 3 yrs. and unfortunately it won’t help you get better.
I hope this helps and I hope you feel better .
The above link Sheila sent looks promising too. Call every single one until you find one you like, knows the law and you trust.

Good luck with that. Malpractice is hard to prove for medical issues, for dental it is even harder. I can only speak for California. I had a case that was supported by a mountain of paperwork. The statute of limitations is only two years. By the time I knew I was going to be Disabled for life, the statute was ready to pass. Proof is tough as I needed to prove my condition was a result only of the dentists and no other outside factors. It was up to me to hire a neurological and dental specialist and foot the bill. No lawyer would take the case without being assured by experts it was valid. California also has a maximum judgement of $250,000 which would bring me very little relief. California also has a process through the Dental Board where you can send them all the information and they have an indpendant review board with other dentists that see if mistakes were made an you are eligible for a full or partial refund for the dental cost only. It just wasn’t worth the effort and my life is still ruined.
