Crud did not get better

I am really trippy at the moment and so bullet points

  • My pain came back and was off and on a pain in the ass until Wednesday
  • < bleep > did not get better on Wednesday. I wound up in the A+E (ER for the North Americans) twice in one day
  • I went he first time in a massive face pain crisis, they gave me , paracetamol, diclofenac and Tramadol (this was on top of the Tegretol (TN issue), Amoxycillin and flagyl for a dental problem
  • That was one hell of a mix. Seriously I was puking like I had a food poisoning. So I was advised to go to the A+E as it was a reaction to the Tramadol.
  • There they did nothing for that, but they dosed me on ... Oramorph for the pain since Tramadol had done nothing for the pain. That dulled it down to liveable ish.
  • I saw my general practitioner the following day on the say so of the hospitals and we discussed my options
  • I have been prescribed Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclc antidepressant. I tried taking it that day, but threw it up. I ended up taking it later that night.
  • I slept - this is a big deal because I hadn't slept in forever, not through the night.
  • I woke up to ... NO PAIN
  • I have been a little hyper which is great, and the side effects for my mood have been awesome.

So yes life is better. But how comes a tricyclic anti-depressant works as an analgesic on something morphine could only dull down?

I've had a lot of success with the amitriptyline. I take 125mgs a day and it's the only thing that have ever helped lower the pain. I hope you're doing better now.

Crystalv I am doing masses better, I can live again. I live in fear of an attack like that, my boyfriend finally saw up close and personal what it was like and has been so supportive it has been insane ever since. Ami is amazing (if ever there was a reason to name a daughter Ami it might be after the drug LOL that is how much I owe it, and that is just 25mg.

I hope you are doing ok as well honey!
