I had chicken pox -- I'm 48 - Somebody told me to run out and get a shingles vaccine before my MVD - Why?

Although rare, it's possible for any serious disturbance to the nervous system to trigger post herpetic neuralgia -- an inflammatory response to the reemergence of latent herpes zoster virus in the central nervous system following a case of chicken pox. Be advised by your doctors concerning whether the risk after MVD is elevated.
