Well, my MVD surgery is scheduled for tuesday! Only…been having all the strange “symptoms” that I was explaining away as medication side effects or symptoms of one of my 11 other chronic illnesses even though they weren’t quite typical…well that was all fine until a rash appeared. I have shingles. I am 33 years old and am scheduled for MVD surgery on Tuesday and end up getting shingles on too of it. Ugh. Anyways, I do not have a fever and my lungs have not been affected. Also I do not have any sores around incision area or any above mid section for that matter. What is your opinion in whether or not they would cancel surgery? I will be calling my surgeon first thing Monday morning of course, but just curious of all your opinions 
I don't think they will.I've had shingles.They hurt like hell! As if you didn't have enough to deal with.So sorry.It was probably caused by stress.Doc said mine were.Wife was pregnant.We were broke.Ect..Ect..That was in 1985.They went away in a few weeks and never came back thank god.Good luck!Let us know what they say.Don

Hope all went well I had shingles when I was in high school Yuk can not imagin having that with TN and then going thru MVD Good luck I will say a prayer for you let us know how it all turned how God Bless

Thank you…I was lucky the shingles was not too bad…young and caught early. Just got cleared today (again lol) for surgery so they will be calling me any day to reschedule. Hopefully it will be soon! Luckily pain is managed for now pretty well with methadone. Just using that until surgery because topamax was too much for me and stopped working anyways. I will keep you posted when my surgery is!
