I can now sense the increase barometric pressure in my relative atmosphere before it occurs...did not pick up on it too much (at home in DC) until I spent time here Japan where it changes daily. In fact, in the past 24 hours a sizeable typhoon came within a few hours of this small town. It is bizarre. [Unfortunately, the sensation is a shoe pressing down upon the one side of my face/head or if there was a 1 sided vice that was closing]. Has anyone else noticed this?
This is wild that you should mention this now. My Mom has maintained for years that she could predict weather by the pain of her arthritis. I could believe that was true but never really considered it for TN. The first time could be a coincidence but not the next 2 times. I am no longer a news and weather watcher as I realized that I would get "on a rip" about things. Mom and Dad watch it. (We all live together) Without knowing the weather forecast but enduring intense pain prior to storms, now I believe it. I probably still won't keep up with weather but it really does make a difference for me. :)
My son has extreme flare ups caused by the weather. I'm wondering if the climate in AZ would be better for him.
Allie, my daughter and son-n law lived in Las Vegas for 5 years. I visited there at least once a year. I can't remember ever being ill with face pain while I was there. I have much more severe pain now than I did then and do not travel. We(my family) have talked a few times about whether a move would be helpful to me. I would love to spend a month out the to see. :-) Thanks so much for being such blessed support for your precious son! TN can be so difficult for families. Very best wishes, Sara
Hi Allie - where is he located? so for me its pressure, I can feel it like a shoe pressing on my head in addition to normal things
When I have spent time in AZ, NV and even Puerto Rico, I noticed that there was no "pressure" as well the episodes were less intense.
Thanks Sara and Albee. We live in GA. I'm willing to try anything to get him out of the pain he is in. Looks like we maybe saving up to send our 21 to Vagas. lol
well one thing Allie, its the constant swings, I suppose once summer settles in with less changes he will have less swings as well (same as winter, but I found that warm/hot is much better than cold)
I think I have learned from the last 3 episodes of bad pain, that if it is going to storm and rain, to add additional meds early. The pain started increasing 12-18 hours before the actual weather events began but by then the pain was way out of control. So now, when I start having that increased pain, I check the weather forecast. A few days ago, we didn't have storms but we had conditions favorable. I was able to just do the other things that I know help like a very hot bath and getting under the electric blanket to focus on soft music. It did the trick with no extra meds. There was still pain but it was not unbearable. Hugs from Texas, Sara
Allie, the daughter that lived in Vegas also lived in Georgia for 3 years. She loved it there and I loved visiting there too. They just returned from Savannah. My grandson got married. They enjoyed it so much, the beauty and the hospitality.
I have noticed the last three days that the humidity is making a difference for me, even with the air conditioning on I can still sense it, I have gotten more exhausted and have breakthrough pain from the meds more often in this weather. I am yearning for the temperature to go back to the 70's to see if it eases up and I can get some energy back, Wendy
