I just need to vent to people who understand. It hurts to breathe! I have Type II, and today and tonight, breathing in through my right nostril shoots a burning pain up my nostril, into my forehead over my right eyebrow, and into my scalp. If I breathe through my mouth, there's hardly any pain, but I hate breathing through my mouth. I'm currently on 300 mg gabepentin twice a day, and my primary wants me to add a midday dose. But I keep forgetting to take it until it's too late in the day. Anyway, thanks for "listening."
Did you notice any improvement with Gabapentin? I often seem to forget my afternoon dose and take it a couple of hours late. From my understanding it is beneficial to keep a regular/steady amount in your system. There are some here that take it in 4 doses over the course of a day.
I think I noticed a difference, but the change in dosage only occurred about a week ago, and I forgot the afternoon dose probably three times since then. Do you notice a difference if you wait a couple of hours for your afternoon dose?
Yes, sometimes I start to hurt and remember to take it. I often notice when I go several hours late, especially on my morning dose that my next couple of days are a little worse. It's kind of funny but as we were having to bump up my dose I was trying to stay as low as possible. At one neuro appt. I told the doc I was still hurting. At the time I was taking 200 am, 100 in the afternoon and 300 pm. The neuro asked when I seemed to be hurting. It was usually in the mid to late afternoon. That was a big ah-ha moment for me. Obviously, I immediately bumped up my afternoon dose and within a short while it was effective.
Oh, wow. Well, I'd better get with the program, then, and be more disciplined about being regular. Now that you mention it, I have, in the past, recognized the return of pain in the afternoon. And my doc said something about needing to have a level amount of gabepentin in my bloodstream, but I didn't (obviously!) pay much attention. Harrumph.
